Kindergarten Discovery Advanced
Kindergarten Discovery Advanced will meet three times a week. Students will be pulled out of class during a time that is least disruptive. For kindergarten this will be Monday afternoon and Friday morning for Discovery Advanced Reading and Wednesday afternoon for Discovery Advanced Math.
Discovery first semester focuses on reading concepts and skills and second semester focuses on reading for meaning with advanced stories and non-fiction text including science readers and experiments. The concepts taught and homework assigned will be on Ren Web as well as a hard copy in their discovery folder. Please check weekly to find out what we are learning and what homework was assigned. Reading homework is due the next reading class period and math homework is due the following week on the day math re-occurs.

MATH: base ten blocks, place value to the thousands, odd /even, greatest and least, comparison <>=, counting money
SCIENCE: Five Senses Exploration Unit - sight, hear, touch, smell, and taste
Body Systems Exploration Unit - brain and nervous system, skeletal and muscular system, circulatory and respiratory
system (heart and lungs), digestive system
