Fourth Grade Discovery Intervention
Discovery intervention is designed as a support program during the school day. The students will receive small group differentiated instruction in the classroom.
Fourth grade discovery MATH intervention will meet at least three days a week for about 30 minutes during math class. The objective of this program is to support the child and teacher in order to ensure that academic success in mathematics can be achieved by each child. Students will receive differentiated instruction of regular grade level math curriculum in a small group setting using instructional aids and manipulatives to clarify conceptual understandings and reinforce and strengthen new skills.
Fourth grade discovery READING will meet at least three days a week for 30 minutes during regular class reading instruction. Reading discovery will provide differentiated instruction of the regular classroom knowledge and skills as well as, accommodations and modifications based on individual students Qualitative Reading Inventory (QRI) score. Running records are regularly administered to assess student progress and determine specific goals.
